Junior Golf

At Helensvale Golf Club, we are pleased to introduce our GO GO GOLF programme.

A fun, safe, challenging and rewarding programme aimed at children from 7 - 15 years old.It is part of the Australian Sports Commisions AUSSIE SPORT Programme and is conducted by accredited Golf Coaches.

Go Go Golf introduces children to the basic skills involved in swinging a golf club and addresses the physical, social and emotional needs of the developing child. Go Go Golf encourages learning while at the same time having fun. The children are encouraged to "have a go" with many opportunities to achieve rewarding results. All activities and games are aimed at the level of development and co-ordination for each individual child. For example the holes in Go Go Golf are the hula hoops, to increase the chances of success. The emphasis is on fun, skills development and participation. The programme is conducted in a safe learning environment to get everyone involved. No prior experience is necessary.

Go Go Golf Clubs are expecially designed for children and golf balls are replaced with special PVC or tennis balls. Go Go Golf Courses can be laid out in school grounds oe inside gymnasiums, using exisitng school equipment. A wide variety of indivdual and team games and activities are played and an actual golf course is not required.

This programme leads to the next step in the learning process, that being the Schweppes Junior Golf Challenge. The Challenge provides for skills testing at regular intervals that are recorded and can be viewed online at the Schweppes website.
